Working with databases plays a key role in modern web applications, and choosing the right tool to interact with them can make a developer's life much easier. What are ORM and ODM?
ORM (Object-Relational Mapping) is used to interact with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite. ORM systems allow developers to use object-oriented data models instead of SQL queries.
ODM (Object-Document Mapping) is used to work with document-oriented databases such as MongoDB. They provide ways to manipulate data in the style of JavaScript objects.

Mongoose: ODM for working with MongoDB
Mongoose is one of the most popular libraries for working with MongoDB in Node.js. It provides a powerful and flexible way to manage document-oriented data, allowing developers to define schemas and run complex queries.
What problems does Mongoose solve?

Mongoose allows developers to define document schemas using a powerful and simple syntax. This helps maintain order in the data structure and improves data validation.

Why I prefer Prisma over Mongoose

Prisma simplifies database schema management with declarative model descriptions and migration commands. In Mongoose, this process can be less flexible, especially if the data structure changes frequently.

Prisma Client provides a convenient API for working with data, and its autocomplete makes development enjoyable and productive. Mongoose API can be more cumbersome and requires more code to perform similar tasks.
Prisma and Mongoose are both powerful data management tools, but they have different applications. Prisma is best suited for relational databases, providing a modern API, type-safety, and easy migrations. Mongoose, on the other hand, is an excellent choice for MongoDB due to its flexibility.
I mainly use Prisma in my projects as it provides simplicity, security and performance, which is especially important when working with relational databases in modern web applications.
